Working Hard or Hardly Working?

This week has been all about work:

work-work, house work, and yard work.

I wish that after many days of not blogging, I had something substantial to share, but I really don't.  So, I'll just try to keep it to some random tidbits about my week; while insignificant, they've got to be more interesting than all that business.  I will say that I wielded the hedge trimmers last night and went to town on our bushes in the front yard!  This excited me to no end, and the bushes actually survived.

Monday, I went to the grocery store, and I just want to see if any one else's experience at the grocery store is similar to my own....  When I go grocery shopping, I am on a mission.  I am there to do one thing - buy food and get out.  Anyway, my Tom Thumb is full of workers who want to have a twenty minute conversation about dinner ideas and plans, about how things have changed in the world, or whatever.  I appreciate good customer service and people-pleasing employees, but they cross a boundary into annoying.  If anything, I am downplaying how obnoxious and time-consuming this really is.  My point being, when I am old and lonely, I will shop at this Tom Thumb and truly thrive there.  While I am young and annoyed, I will shop at this Tom Thumb and complain to y'all about it.

Miles and I went to the driving range on Tuesday.

He is playing in two charity golf tournaments this weekend to help him reach his total of 4 rounds of golf per year.  It was a really pretty evening, so the driving range was packed. Although we were really there for Miles to get some practice in,  I took a few "warm-up" shots that have my back still sore in areas that I didn't know could get sore. Sad, I know.  It was a lot of fun, though, and if we could get up there more, I think we'd both be pretty good (and less sore later)!

The last thing I am going to share is that Miles and I cannot commit to a vacation.  We have ISSUES.  This is a trip we have been trying to get on the books since November.  Do y'all think it could have to do with being the youngest in our families and people usually making/planning iteneraries for us?  I don't know.  What I do know, is that we will decide one thing and  back off of it, decide on a another place or time and back off of it, and repeat.  We are not commitment-phobes in any other area of our lives.  But, we can't commit to guaranteed fun and relaxation!?  We are weird.

That's all, folks.

  1. You are funny. What are the vacation options? Maybe you should ask some of the local Tom Thumb employees what they think.

  2. Do you want me to plan a trip for you? I have lots of ideas. You can even borrow the RV.

There are some days I don't speak with another human until your dad comes home from work. I may have to start shopping your Tom Thumb.
