When I stumbled upon this gem of a picture, I had to share. It captures so much of who I was at this time in my life. In 1996, I was 12. I was taking pictures. I was short on models.
Even though it's cut off, the whole date is on this picture, and I've deducted that this was Christmas day. :) The random pictures are accounted for by the fact that I probably received a new camera for Christmas - maybe my first "own" camera?
Those were three of my favorite beanie babies, or possibly ones I got for Christmas?? Brett brought me Reville, while home from his first semester in college (that one I know, for sure). The cat (?) is unexplainable. But, ugly, definitely.
And, obviously, our family dog, Pumpkin, was having a fabulous Christmas day with me! His ears are positioned perfectly. I think he must've been asleep and I prodded him into position with my stuffed animals. Merry Christmas!
Although I could never have imagined feeling so nostalgic at the time, when I look back at this picture I think of how it might have been one of the last times I ever played with my stuffed animals all alone like that (for my own entertainment, anyway). I mean, I guess I was in 7th grade here....
Come on, Michelle, embarrassing!
Some of you might be able to conjure up a picture of what I looked like on this day, but for those of you who didn't know... this was me at age 12.
I love that I am rocking an oversized tee under overalls on Christmas Day. Classy has always been the word that came to people's minds when they thought of me, though.
You are so cute! Is it crazy that I never remember that comforter or your cornice board looking like that?
ReplyDeleteDo you look older or younger than most of your 7th grade students?
You were a precious 12 year old. I love the self portrait and the photo of Pumpkin with your stuffed animals. Remember how he sat in your bed every night when we read? He loved listening to the books.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it!!! Oh overalls...
ReplyDeleteMichelle, Usually I don't comment, or when I do, it is usually a joke. But this post was nostalgic for me too. We all need to take time to enjoy our lives & now that we have blogging, to help remember. I wish all my old photos & videos were in a blog for easy viewing. This will be great for posterity. Love, Dad ... Yes the same dad that did everything for you while you were growing up so Mom could relax. :)
