Yea, me, for doing something!

Each summer I have The List. It's a to do list of what I hope to get accomplished, while I'm off of work. Some of these things are easy and fun, and some are more mundane. Since returning from Mexico, my countdown to work has begun, and my to do list is feeling the burn.
One thing I did accomplish this week was cleaning out my drawers and closet.

As funny as it sounds, this has always been a favorite task of mine. I am not sentimental about shoes and clothes. I love the purge. If they've gone a year without use, they're out. This year was a bit different. For one, there was this mound of maternity clothes in there.

Some of this was Joanie's and some I bought, but, really, I probably could have stopped there and counted myself cleaned out. Along the same lines, this year was different because my body hasn't made it back to its former self, and I don't know that it will! So, that made it hard to know what to keep and what to get rid of in some cases. I went through everything, except jeans. I had plenty to donate that I should have rid of last summer, but I am so not ready to try any of those on. My hips are a new being.

Anyway, it was the perfect task to tackle as a warm up because next on the list will be the fridge. I am going to clean out the freezer, which has become an abyss of who knows what. That way I can move onto another item on the list - preparing some freezer meals and stocking up to make the transition of returning to work plus being a mommy a bit easier.

As usual, I cant believe it's August, and I am already formulating a list of things I should have done and plan to actually accomplish next summer.

What about you - Is there a time of year you try to get organized? Any tips for some meals that freeze and cook well?
Also, feel free to thank me later for this riveting post.
